New Mexico Texas Coaches was founded in 1985 by Jack Knittel in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Our Company initially provided transportation for railroad crews based in Carlsbad. We soon expanded to provide transportation services utilizing shuttle buses to a large government subcontractor for its employees traveling to and from the WIPP site located between Carlsbad and Hobbs, New Mexico. We have operated the WIPP contract for over fifteen years. With the revenues from this contract as our backbone, we expanded our business to include individualized charter trips for local high schools, colleges, church groups, senior citizens, tours, and other groups needing transportation services.

In addition to the shuttle buses, we expanded our fleet of vehicles and now have large motor coaches that seat 56 passengers, shuttle buses that seat from 26 to 34 passengers, vans that seat 14 passengers and a limousine. We take great pride in our equipment. All of our equipment is late model (2006 or newer). The Setra Motor Coaches are manufactured in Germany by a division of Mercedes-Benz. They are some of the best buses money can buy!
